Wastewater Treatment a way sedimentation and filtration and study its impact on the accumulation of trace elements in plant celery Apium graveolens L

This study has been conducted form July 2012 to June 2013 to realize the influence of sewage treatment by sedimentation and filtration and use for irrigation of Celery plant Apium graveolens L.Physical and chemical tests has been conducted for irrigation water before cultivation, soil testes included pH , Electrical conductivity, soil texture, cation Exchange Capacity, Organic matter and the concentration of ions and heavy metals,water tests included pH , Electrical conductivity, temperature, Biological Oxygen demand, Total dissolved solids,Total suspended soils and concentration of ions included heavy metals.
Results indicated that treatment by sedimentation and by filtration redused most Physical and chemical values of sewage water as compared with untreared water (control),and the concentration of cadmium and lead in four samples of water in the current study were very low, and not sensed by atomic absorption spectrometer. Zinc ion concentration was not affected significantly in treated water as compared with untreated water (control), and the concentration of lead in parts of the plant was very low, and not sensed in the test, there were no significant changes in cadmium and zinc concentrations in celery roots irrigated with water treated by sedimentation and filtration, while zinc concentrations decreased in celery shoots. Irrigated with water treated by filtration by 58.62%, and the consumption of these crops will cause health problems for community in the future

The research evaluated the marker of oxidative stress and antioxidants status in Gestational diabetic women (GD) in Saladdin governorate,through measuring the end-product of lipid peroxidation ( Malondialdehyde-MDA) and the antioxidants (Reduced glutathione,Vit.C,Total phenols ). The study was carried out on (68) women age (19–40) year, included (25) gestational diabetic , compared with non-pregnants (22) and normal pregnant women (21) with similar age as control group.The study showed that MDA level was significantly increase in the gestational diabetic women compared to non-pregnants and normal pregnant women.While the antioxidants status (Reduced glutathione, Vit.C ,Total phenols) showed a significant decrease in their levels.Moreover, the research also included a study of the effect of women age on the studied biochemical parameters , the results showed significant increase in MDA level in (25-40)year age group compared to (19-24) year group of gestational diabetic women , non-pregnants and normal pregnant women.While the antioxidants status (Reduced glutathione, Vit.C , Total phenols) showed a significant decrease in their levels in (25-40) year age group compared to (19-24) year group of gestational diabetic women , non-pregnants and normal pregnant women

Epidemiological and diagnostic studies of cutaneous leishmaniasis in Kirkuk Governorate

In this investigation the total of 1600 cases or suspected cases of leishmaniasis were evaluated in Kirkuk gover province from January to December 2013 . One hundred forty six cases were found to be positive that were distributed among the four districts including Kirkuk , Hawija , Dubis , and Dakook. The highest infection rate was reported in Hawija (20.5%) whereas the lowest infection rate was in Kirkuk (3.5%) . In this study the cutaneous disease was more frequent in females (61.64%). The highest infection rate of cutaneous disease (50%) were found with age group(1-5) years while the lowest infection rate (2.05%) were at age group (20-25) years . Also the highest infection rate of cutaneous disease (24.62%) was recorded in January and the lowest rate in June , July and August . Most lesions located on exposed body sites (arms, hands, head and legs). The clinical features of the lesions were furunclar, ulcerative and some lesions were covered by firmly adherent crust and others were edematous.
By using direct microscopic test , amastigotes were dectectable in 93 cases , and the positive cases were increased to122cases by realizing the parasite culture in to diphasic NNN media, which conform the diagnosis. The examination of 146 serum sample plus 20 control serum sample by ELISA revealed 138 positive results (94.5%) as compared to 122 positive sample (83.5%) which were examined by classic methods . The examination of control sample by ELISA were all negative . On the other hand, the using of PCR was found to be very sensitive and useful for diagnosing cutaneous leishmaniasis and can provide a better understanding of the epidemiology of cutaneous leishmaniasis in the endemic areas . This study revealed the presence of leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania major in Hawijadistritic .

Effect of Hot water extract of pomegranate peel on swarming and hemolysin production in multiple antibiotics resistance Proteus mirabilis

The study included isolation and identification of Proteus mirabilis from different clinical samples, as it was obtained 25 isolates belonging to P.mirabilis ( 8.06 % ) of the total ( 310 ) samples taken from the outpatients' and inpatients in Kirkuk General Hospital and Azadi education hospital whom infected with urinary tract , diarrheagenital tract infections , wounds , burns and ear and of different ages and both gender. P. mirabilis diagnosed depending on morphological and biochemical tests as well as by using the Rapid ONE system . The results indicated that all isolates showed swarming on the surface of blood ager and was gram negative also the isolates showed variation in the production of hemolysin that increase the pathgenicity and the results showed resistance of most isolates to antibiotics Amoxillin and Ampicillin and Amoxillin _Clavulanic acid and Azithromycin and Cefixime, while most of the isolates were sensitive to Amikacine Piprecilline and Chloramphenicol and Ciprofloxacin. Synthesis Characterization and Biological Activity of Some Metal Complexes Derived from Oxadiazole

Complexes of 2-(3-propionic acid) thio-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole with Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) and Ag(I) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of physicochemical investigations including infrared and electronic spectroscopy, magnetic moment measurements, molar conductance and elemental analysis.
The have been assigned the formula: [M(OXP)(H2O)3]Cl; where M=Mn(II), or Fe(II), [M(OXP)2], Where M=Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II) and Ni(II), [M(OXP)(H2O)]Cl; where M= CO(II), Ni(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) and [Ag(OXP)] (NO3).
Infrared spectral data suggest that the ligand OXP: behaves as a, monobasic tridentate ligand with N,S,O donor sequence towards the metal ions expect the silver (I); it acts as neutral bidentate ligand coordinating via N,S atoms. On the basis of the above physicochemical data,octahedral, tetrahedral and non linear geometries were assigned for the complexes.The ligand and its complexes were screened for their antifungal activities against two species of fungi, Trichoderma and Aureobasidium; and it was found that the complexes possess certain degree of activity

A Study of the Operational Conditions Influence on the Performance of Kirkuk Gas Plant

Kirkuk gas turbine power plant is supplied by the gaseous fuel from north gas company. The results showed that the theoretical efficiency of the unit is a function for two parameters; the compressor input temperature and the pressure ratio rp . So, the pressure rp ratio depends directly on the compressor input temperature. If the net work of the unit Wnet (Wt - Wc) is taken to be an index for the performance, the efficiency ƞ will be more in summer than that in winter because of the considerable reduction in compressor work Wc , while if the specific energy produced (or consumed specific fuel SFC) is taken as an index for the performance; the actual efficiency ƞac is more in winter since the specific energy produced in winter is greater approaching (4.5 kW.hr.m-3), while it did not exceed (2.8 kW.hr.m-3) in summer, this belong to the performance improving as the load increases approaching the design load, this is prevailing on the power plant operated by the diesel, heavy fuel or crude oil.

This research Includes the synthesis of some formazan derivatives from reaction of terephthaldehyd with Phenyl hydrazine through hydrazones (1) and ended with formazan derivatives as follows: Synthesis of hydrazon through reaction of terephthaldehyd with Phenyl hydrazine compounds (1). Convert hydrazon compound number (1) to the formazan derivatives through reaction with diazonium salts the compounds (2-14). Stability of pigments synthesis compounds was measured of (2-14) by using wool, cotton, paper and sawdust have shown that, these compounds (pigments) have good stability against washing with water and then use a bleaching solution .
The synthesized compounds have been characterized by Ultraviolet (UV) , Infrared spectrum (FT-IR) , Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H-NMR) , ( C.H.N) analysis of the elements for some compounds and by their melting point and checked through T.L.C. Study the dyes stability and antibacterial activity of some of the synthesized compounds against Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus , Streptococcus pyogenes) and Gram negative bacteria( Escherichia Coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa )and they were found to exhibit good to moderate antibacterial activity.

ABSTRACT
This work included preparation of substituted organic hydrazone compounds from acid hydrazide(succinic dihydrazide and malonoic dihydrazide) through the reaction with different aromatic aldehyde compounds by using microwave radiation, then identified the products compounds by measuring its physical constants (melting point) and measuring infrared spectra.Confirmation for the prepared compounds structures by using infrared spectro and measuring some physical constants, we sure that the reactions is complete by using new energy radiation under green chemistry which accelerated the reaction in afew seconds and without byproduct

Seroprevalence of Toxoplasmosis among blood donors in Kirkuk main blood bank.

The study was carried out in Kirkuk main blood bank for period from beginning of anuary 2013 to end of September 2013 to detect Toxoplasma gondii among blood donors .
A questionnaire form was arranged to get information from each blood donors including age, occupation and blood groups . Five ml of blood was collected from each blood donors, put in plain tube without anticoagulant, centrifuged and serum kept at -20ºc for serological tests. The level of Toxoplasma gondii was estimated using Latex and ELISA IgG and IgM . From 250 blood donors it was found that the rate of Toxoplasma was 25.2% the highest rate was among (30-39) years old while using ELISA-IgG the rate of positive cases was 19.6% with highest rate among (30-39) years; using ELISA-IgM the rate of positive cases was 8.8% the highest rate was among (40-49) years. In ELISA IgM and IgG the highest rate 11.6%. The highest rate was 34% among age groups (40-49)years. Regarding occupations the highest positivity rate was among private work with rate of seropositivity was 67%, 61%, 55%, 66% with Latex, IgG, IgM and IgG with IgM cases respectively . Regarding blood groups using Latex the highest rate was 44% among blood group A and in ELISA-IgG was 45% among blood group A also . While in ELISA –IgM and ELISA IgG+IgM the highest rate among blood group O (36% ,38%) respectively . It is concluded that, the distribution of Toxoplasma gondii was high among blood donors in main blood bank in Kirkuk . It is recommended to carry on further investigation for Toxoplasma gondii among blood donors in all part of the country .

Molecular Study of Sortase Enzyme in Streptococcus pyogenes Isolated From Patients With Tonsillitis in Kirkuk City

From a total of (300) throat swabs collected from patients suffering from tonsillitis whom they attend to some of Primary Health Care Centers in Kirkuk City during the period from November (2012) to May (2013). Patients age were from (2-60) years .Only (16) isolates of Strep. pyogenes were obtained. These isolates detected by standard bacteriological methods and by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique by detecting the presence of the diagnostic gene (spy1258). Specific primers were used for the detection of the genes (srtA, srtB and srtC) which encode for sortase enzymes (SrtA, SrtB and SrtC) respectively. The results showed that all of the (16) isolates of Strep. pyogenes contain the gene (srtA) with a percentage of (100%), while only (7) isolates with a percentage of (43.75%) contain the gene (srtB), whereas (13) isolates with a percentage of (81.25%) contain the gene (srtC). Streptococcus pyogenes DNA amplification reveal that only (7) isolates has had all three enzymes.

Effect a Nd:YAG Laser Irradiation on The Optical And Structural Properties of Thin Film (CdO) Prepared by Chemical Spray Pyrolysis (CSP)Technique.

To study the effect of Nd:YAG laser on the properties of structural and optical values of the energy gap of cadmium oxide (CdO) films, have been prepared using chemical spray pyrolysis and deposited on a glass substrate for concentrations(0.05, 0.1, 0.15)M at temperature (350°C) ,using 6 spray rate during (10) second for each spray . To study the optical properties of the film Prepared (CdO) before and after irradiation Nd:YAG laser with energy (200) mJ at different times (5,10,15)sec and at (1) meter far from the source using a(UV-Visible) spectrometer device and the extent of wavelengths, (300-1100) nm the results showed that the energy gap increased with increasing concentrations and was the ideal value when the concentration of (0.1)M, where the value of energy gap is (2.25)eV, but after laser irradiation redueced to (2)eV. The Atomic Force Microscope(AFM) has been used to study the structural properties of the composition and topography of the surface in two and three dimensions of the films prepared before and after irradiation, the results indicate that the surface rate roughness and the average root of the square less after irradiation, and it is observed ideal value for this property is at a concentration of (0.1)M. The crystalline structures and surface morphology of CdO thin film examined by XRD analysis. The result showed the films are polycrystalline for and crystalline granules prevailing levels of growth are at (220), (200), (111) the irradiation led to a slight change in the angle of diffraction in the lattice constants (a) and a decline in giving the peak tops.

Isolation and identification of shigella from children in Kirkuk city and the studying some of the virulence characters invitro

The study included the isolation and identification of Shigella species from stool and rectal swabs of children less than 13 years suffering acute and bloody diarrhea attended Azadi General and children’s hospital in Kirkuk city, using cultural tests on selective and differential media, biochemical test and the results were confirmed by using API20E system and serological tests. Among (305) stool and rectal swabs samples, (3) isolates of Shigella (0.98%) isolated, (2) isolates belonged to Shigella flexneri , the other isolates belonged to Shigella sonnei . The study of some virulence characters were also performed for shigella isolates . The ability to survival under acidic condition in medium at PH2.5 and alkaline conditions in medium at PH9.8, the result reveal that their survival rate varied widely, after 2-hr from (16-79%) under acidic condition and (4-22%) under alkaline conditions. This research deals with the use of absorbing Markov chain which is one of means of processing the contingency cases in the determination and analysis of preparing the graduation of students. It also deals with the students who have been suspended. This process has been applied to the college of Science / University of Kirkuk. In particular the students in the of department of Mathematics and the students in the department of computing have been the focus of analysis. The purpose is baited up a concrete foundation for the future of the graduates of the college of Science. This is to get the maximum advantage of the outcomes of the college of Science order to meet the requirements of the society.The matrix designed for Mathematics shows that bribability any student to the second stage, then to third stage, finally to the fourth stage are given by 0.984, 0.982, and 0.988 respectively while the graduation has the probability of 0.990.With regard to the department of computing, the corresponding probability of passing to the second year, third year, and then graduation will have the probabilities 0.946, 0.988, 0.987 the 0.993. The reaming probabilities are allocated to the students who have been suspended.This procedure is regarded as one of the beast ways in analyzing the student mobility throughout his academic years of study in the college until he is graduated or he is suspended. Also estimate the time needed in each year and expect the number of students which ear be used on a key factor in order to get advantage of it by those who are the decision makers when setting the future development plan.

Environmental study of physical and chemical properties for Lower Zaab river water in both Debis and Alton kobri stations in Kirkuk province for year 2013

The aim of the study is to define the level of the Environmental pollution for Lower Zaab river water in both debis and Alton kobri sectors in Kirkuk province through execution different physical and chemical tests which are : Tem , PH, Tur ,T.H , ALK , EC , TDS , NO3 , DO , BOD , Na+ , Mg2+ , K+ , Ca2+ , Cl- , SO42- , and PO4 Not be measured HCO3- and compare the results with the Iraqi specifications to determine the grade of water for human being consumptions as drink water , as well as that exist water grade compared with UK classification for river water (River classification 2000) which indicate that this water of first grade suitable for all uses (drink , agriculture , industry) .

In this study, the assumption kinetic model, and through him we conducted study of two cases of plasma gas Alarcon ( ) : the first case of radio glow discharge ( ) in pristine plasma and the second dusty plasma by dust particles and this model is based on solving the equation of Boltzmann transitional electronic numerically using Finite Element Method (FEM) as was the energy distribution function of electrons account (EEDF) and the drift velocity and the impact of concentrations and sizes of dust nanoparticles it was reduced field strength (E/N) at the expense of (EEDF) and (Vd) within the range (50-200)Td and the extent of energy electrons (0.005-30) eV,results showed that the dust in the plasma increases the drift velocity values.

Study the partial substitution and annealing on Structure and Electrical Properties of compound Tl2-xAgxSr2-yBayCa2Cu3O10+& Superconductor

We have prepared samples of high temperature superconductors namely Tl2-xAgxSr2-yBayCa2Cu3O10+& using solid state reaction, for different concentration of (x,y=0.1 0.2,0.3, 0.4, 0.5) and compressing by hydraulic at 8 ton/cm2 also annealing samples at 850 0C. The samples have been characterized resistivity measurements using the electrical resistively measurement. At x,y=0.3 ratio of Ag,Ba give a best value of Tc=141 K.The morphology of the samples obtained by AFM in three dimensions views four samples after annealing treatment .Also give a best Nano size value is 94.74 nm at x,y=0.3
